MEP of the week

Privacy

The site itself stores nothing about you: no cookies, no accounts, no tracking pixels. The only personal data we ever hold is an email address you give us for the newsletter.

Who is responsible

MEP of the week is an independent, non-affiliated project. Controller: the editorial team of mepoftheweek.com. Contact: contact@mepoftheweek.com.

The newsletter (general list)

What we store: your email address, when you signed up, when you confirmed, and when you unsubscribed. Nothing else - no name, no IP address, no profile.

Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), given by double opt-in - you type your address and confirm it by clicking a link we email you. Unconfirmed addresses are deleted.

Withdrawal: every email contains a one-click unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing is immediate and needs no login. You can also write to us to have your address erased entirely.

Emails to MEP offices

We separately send a weekly, factual summary of a member's own public declaration record to parliamentary offices that asked to receive it. We store the office's email address and which member it belongs to.

Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) - professional correspondence with public offices about their own public record. Every email says why it was received and carries the same one-click unsubscribe.

Who processes the email

Sending is handled by Resend (Resend, Inc., USA) as our processor, under EU standard contractual clauses. We do not use open or click tracking - no pixels, no per-recipient link rewriting.

Abuse protection

To keep bots from flooding the signup form we rate-limit requests. For that we briefly keep a salted, truncated hash of the requesting IP address - never the address itself - and delete these buckets within about 48 hours.

Everything else on this site

The transparency record itself (meetings, organisations, members) is public data from the European Parliament and the EU Transparency Register. Portraits are official EP photos. Hosting and network-level statistics are provided by Cloudflare; we use their cookieless, aggregate analytics only.
