Your MEPs are the Members of the European Parliament elected in your country - unlike national MPs, they represent the whole member state (or, in Ireland, Belgium, Italy and Poland, a regional constituency within it). Every EU citizen is represented by all the MEPs elected in their country, and you can contact any of them.

Which MEP should I contact?

• By topic: MEPs sitting on the relevant parliamentary committee shape the legislation - they are usually the most effective contact.
• By party: if you voted for a national party, its MEPs sit in one of the political groups.
• Any of them: every MEP elected in your country represents you, regardless of who you voted for.
